Jaguar Tire Maintenance

2022 Jaguar E-PACE Driving on Highway

Your Jaguar vehicle is known for its precision handling on the roads of Rancho Santa Fe and Del Mar, and your tires play a major role in how well your vehicle performs. This is why regular Jaguar tire maintenance is so important. In the guide below from the automotive experts at Jaguar San Diego, we explore how to check Jaguar tire tread and more so that you can get the most out of your tires for many years to come.

Your Monthly Tire Inspection

We recommend performing a monthly tire inspection to make sure everything is as it should be with your tires. It only takes about ten minutes.

Even though most modern vehicles feature a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, we still recommend manually checking your tire pressure. Before you do so, make sure that your tires are “cold.” This will give you the most accurate reading. Try and wait a few hours after you last drove the vehicle if you can. If your tires are properly inflated, you are good to go. If not, gradually add more air until they are inflated to the correct level.

Once this step has been completed, inspect the condition of your tires. Do you notice any gashes or cracks? What about embedded objects? Next, look for signs of wear on your tires. Uneven wear patterns could indicate issues like overinflated tires, misaligned wheels, or suspension problems.

How to Check Jaguar Tire Tread

Below, we’ll show you how to check Jaguar tire tread. All you need is a penny to perform the test.

  • Place your penny into a tread groove upside down.
  • Look to see if you can see the top of Lincoln’s head. If you can, it’s time to replace your tires, as they have less than the minimum amount of tread considered safe for driving.
  • Repeat the penny test on all tires and in multiple locations on each tire.

More Tire Care

Don’t forget about these tire services as well.

  • Rotate and Balance Tires – Every 5,000 to 7,000 miles
  • Wheel Alignment – Every 7,000 miles

Jaguar Tire PSI Guide

The recommended Jaguar tire pressure usually ranges between 32 and 36 PSI. However, recommendations can vary significantly based on the model you drive and the tires it has. We always recommend taking a look at your owner’s manual. You may also find the recommended tire pressure listed on the sticker located on the inside edge of your driver’s door.
